The New Year's Luck Ritual was a Rokugani ritual celebrated on the last day of the year. A handful of soybeans were thrown about in each room of the house, then swept up and tossed out of a window. This was believed to sweep up all the bad luck from the old year, preparing the house for good luck in the new year.
