The ARA Almirante Irízar is a large icebreaker of the Argentine Navy. She was built in Finland in 1975. The ship has been out of service since 2007, when a fire broke out in the auxiliary generator compartment. , the repairs should be completed by the end of 2013 at a cost of over US$100m.
