While the Republic was assigned to assist in the rebuilding efforts on Tezwa in late 2379, the Heyerdahl was shot down over Keelee-Kee by a plasma warhead; Lieutenant Blancaflor served as the search and rescue team leader and recovered the flight recorder, and USS Enterprise-E Security Chief Christine Vale ordered security personnel Gracin and Cruzen to confiscate recording equipment from a Federation News Service reporter on the scene to prevent any tactical leaks.
