Mexica was a short lived period of stability in Aztec history ranging from 1386AD(Refounding) to 1544AD(Spanish Conquests). The New Kingdom was founded in the year 1386AD by warrior Chicahua. According to aztec legend Chicahua's birth was the result of a chance encounter between his farmer mother and the war god Mixcoatl. Before his death in 1399AD Chicahua along with his ragtag band of soldiers managed to subdue warring tribes on the periphery of the Mexican Valley. By the beginning of the 15th century Mexica occupied a territory 20% the size of the 2nd Aztec Empire during its peak. It would stay at this size until the Spanish Conquests.
