Subotai, also spelled Subutai, is a Mongolian general and military strategist of Genghis Khan and later Ögedei Khan. He was also known for devising the campaign that destroyed the armies of Hungary and Poland within two days of each other which is represented by both The Promise and the Pax Mongolia campaigns in Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. In addition to the Pax Mongolia campaign he also appears in The Horde Rides West campaign in form of a Heavy Cavalry Archer but with better stats and its own icon. As with all heroes, he is also available in the Scenario Editor, can self regenerate and cannot be converted. Technologies that benefit cavalry archers also benefit Subotai but is not affected by some civilization bonuses.
