The Assault Shotgun is available in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. It is the second shotgun obtained, and the most powerful and accurate shotgun available (with the drawback of a slow reload). It's first available to pick up in Nightmare part 1, is the secondary weapon of Albert Wesker in Rebirth and of Jill Valentine in Raccoon's Destruction
