Surfside 6 was an ABC television series (1960–1962) about a Miami Beach detective agency set on a houseboat. Surfside 6 had a memorable theme song, written by Jerry Livingston and Mack David. The lyrics varied from week to week, but "Surfside 6" and "In Miami Beach!" stayed intact. Stewie sings a variation of one of the Surfside 6 lyrics when he tears up Brian's books to make a papier-mâché model of the houseboat from the show in "Fore Father".
