Zara Lanni was a ranking officer within the Shadow Imperium and, later, the Crimson Empire. She served as a low-ranking member of the Shadow Imperium for some time, and was promoted to captain by the time Ilan Garuda came into the equation. At that point, Keldon Tyfus appointed her as the Imperium's chief representative to the companies they sought business from. By 18 ABY, she held the rank of commodore as served as the chief representative of the Crimson Empire to Kuat Drive Yards. She was the commanding officer of the Star Destroyer Courageous.
