The Hibagon was a mythical race of secretive ape-men who lived among the branches of the trees of deep forests, especially the Shinomen Mori. They constructed crude woven shelters from sticks and leaves and survived on a diet of fruit, nuts, leaves, and bark. The so-called “Hibagon Village” was said to lie deep in the Shinomen Mori.
