The Kashyyyk slash-spider was a species of arachnid native to the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. The scissors-like mandibles of the spider provided the name for the slip-jaws, a maneuver that was utilized in starfighter combat. The spiders typically loitered around ponds and shores in order to hunt smaller fish and crustaceans.
