Mairon Gorthaur, later simply known as Sauron, was a male Ainu and a Maia of Tython. A survivor of the Force Wars, Gorthaur joined the other Valar on Arda to assist in the rehabilitation of the continent.Falling to the dark side of the Force, Gorthaur was a servant of Morgoth and eventually succeeded him as Dark Lord.
