Airdrie is a town in North Lanarkshire, near Glasgow. It is home to approximately 37,000 people of which 96% are Scottish-born. The town lies on a plateau roughly 130m above sea level, and is approximately 12 miles east of Glasgow. Airdrie, along with its neighbour Coatbridge, forms the area known as the Monklands
