R-3PO was a 3PO-series protocol droid working at Echo Base for the Rebel Alliance. He worked with high ranking officers and diplomats most of the time. He had a tattoo on his left posterior plating which said, "Thank the Maker." He escaped the base during the Empire’s siege. He then went on to go from owner to owner until winding up working at the Jedi Academy on Ossus.
