Following Allen's departure, the series changed hosts, becoming The Jack Paar Show. Eventually, beginning with the arrival of Johnny Carson in 1962, it would morph into The Tonight Show, becoming more of a chat series than anything else. Jim and Jane Henson appeared on the show during the third week of October 1956 and performed "I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face." They appeared three weeks later on Allen's The Steve Allen Show and performed the same number. They also made an appearance on Tonight with Jack Paar on November 1, 1957.
