Dearka Elthman is a ZAFT pilot whose Buster Gundam specializes in artillery combat. After being defeated by Mu La Flaga, he becomes a prisoner of the Earth Alliance. During his time with the archangel crew, he becomes attracted to Miriallia Haw, a girl who would overcome her grief and commit to help end the conflict. When the Archangel leaves the Earth Alliance, Dearka acts alongside the crew and sympathizes with them.
