Gullivar Jones was a former Lieutenant in the Confederate Army who arrives on Mars thanks to a magic carpet. He falls in love with a Martian princess of the Hither Folk and fights the villainous Thither Folk. He however is not a very accomplished adventurer and fails to completely to win his princess' heart or defeat his enemies.
