Eizou was the carpenter of Seitou Tason. The craftsman was a large, muscular, and rather unattractive man, aggressive and sarcastic to his fellow villagers, who loved to flirt with the young women of the village. Eizou was actually a gentle and lonely soul, and abhorred violence of any kind. He depised samurai, as the sources of most violence in the world. He had a foster-son, Oushi, nicknamed "Ox", whose parents died in a bandit raid.
