The quantum burst was a hand-held projectile weapon that fired explosive charges. It was designed by a hazard team member, Ensign Korban, and follows a similar line of function and design to the photon burst. Instead of miniature photon torpedo charges however, the quantum burst utilizes new and far more destructive mini-quantum torpedoes for ammunition.
