The Power Macintosh 8600 was a personal computer that was a part of Apple Computer's Power Macintosh series of Macintosh computers. It was introduced at a processor speed of 200 megahertz on February 17, 1997, and was introduced at processor speeds of 250 & 300 megahertz on August 5, 1997, which replaced the original 200 megahertz model. This product was discontinued one year after it was introduced. The Processor was mounted on a daughter card that fitted into a slot on the motherboard. The Power Mac 8600 required 168 pin DIMM ram and used 50 pin SCSI hard drives.
