Top Marks first appears in the season one episode The Cutie Mark Chronicles as one of the examiners for filly Twilight Sparkle's magic test. At one point, he yawns due to Twilight taking a long time to complete her test. When Twilight loses control of her magic due to Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom, Top Marks is caught in Twilight's rampant magic and gets levitated into the air. In season four, Top Marks appears in Equestria Games as a spectator in the stadium crowd. In season five, he appears in The Cutie Re-Mark - Part 1 talking with "Crystal Clear" outside the School for Gifted Unicorns.
