Alan Thicke (born Alan Willis Jeffery; March 1, 1947; died December 13, 2016) is a Canadian actor, songwriter, and game and talk show host. He is best known for his role as Dr. Jason Seaver, the patriarch on the ABC television series Growing Pains. Not only has he hosted several game shows in his career, but he also composed the music for many of them, too. Alan’s brother, Todd Thicke, composed the music for the 1986 revival of Split Second.
