Kazek was a male Orion in the 23rd century of the Kelvin timeline. He was the father of Kai and Gaila and was the husband of Vila. In 2248, when Vila entered negotiations with the Pacari, she gave Gaila to them as a goodwill gesture for one of them to marry. However, Gaila refused, but Vila insisted that it was her duty for her family. The deal then fell apart when Kazek and Kai rescued Gaila and fled from Vondem. (TOS - Reunion comic: "Part 1")
