Yong-Jun Kim was an agent of the regime of North Korea, working on international covert assignments for the DPRK Secret Police. Through his contacts and associates around East Asia, he was able to learn of the Omega Strain production by Murakawa Industries and establish himself as an apparent ally of Sanzo Murakawa's Yakuza. Kim had the cover of a South Korean businessman and could access the research in Tokyo.
