A letterman from Marshall College wearing glasses was present at Arnie's Diner in 1957 when Mutt Williams sucker punched "Joe College". The act was a catalyst for a fight which pulled in many of the diner's patrons. When the lettermen and the greasers confronted each other, this letterman stood behind one of his companions.
