The USS Humes (NCC-572) was an uncommissioned destroyer starship of the Jenghiz-class proposed to be built by the Federation Starfleet. The project was canceled and construction the vessel never completed. (Jackill's) Its possible that whatever materials already invested in contract #572 went on to become another starship of a different class, number, or name.
