The movie starts with Grounder playing in one of Robotnik's fighter planes, pretending to shoot his enemies. Scratch comes in and tells him he's a bad shot and couldn't get one in even if he lived in a world populated by stupid people. Grounder wants Scratch to put his mobiums where his beak is and they use Robotnik's interdimensional portal, which goes haywire and causes a hurricane-like suction that starts sucking everyone in. Robotnik lands in a pile of mud in a farm and the heroes land in the city. Sonic and the guys agree to go further into the city, ignoring Amy's advice to stay put. Even when Amy tries using her charm, it proves to be ineffective. Sonic and Felix meet while mistaking one another for his reflection. They notice Amy is missing, so they try to find her.
