Near the end of the Dominion War, the The Ring was heavily damaged by a Jem'Hadar attack, weakening its structure and nearly resulting in its collapse to the planet's surface. This tragedy was averted with the help of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers crew aboard the USS da Vinci, including one-time Kharzh'ulla resident Mor glasch Tev.
