In The Turakian Age, the kingdom of Valicia is ruled by The Yellow King, a hereditary ruler with great magical powers. Due to an ancient curse, the Yellow Kings alternate with Black Kings who are warriors, rather than mages, the line being unable to produce two generations the same. The Yellow Kings are fair-haired and slighter in build, whilst the Black Kings are dark-haired and bulky. It is unclear if the concept was inspired by The Yellow Mythos or not.
