The Second Season of Jessica Jones was announced on January 17, 2016. It will premiere on Netflix after The Defenders first season. The production of the second season started on April 3, 2017 in New York City, shortly after the wrap of production of The Defenders. Melissa Rosenberg announced that every season two episodes will be directed by a female director.
