The Religious Crisis of the VIII Century is the term used to describe the crisis in the Middle East between several religious groups, mostly branches of Christianity. The Crisis is a result of several factors, among them the Council of Truro between the Celtic and Orthodox churches, the Great Schism, the Khazar Invasion of Iberia, the earlier Pagan Revival and, of course, the advent of Medinan Christianity. It immediately led to the further weakening of most nations in the Middle East and the independence of the Levantine Confederation and the First Kingdom of Egypt.
