Mike Cleary was a technician who worked aboard the refit USS Enterprise in the 2270s. In 2273, he was working in the ship's engineering section when the ship participated in the mission to intercept V'Ger. (TOS movie: Star Trek: The Motion Picture) He had previously distinguished himself on the USS Potemkin and the USS Sacajawea. (TOS novel: Ex Machina) Cleary's first name of Mike, after the actor who played him, was only given in Ex Machina.
