Mega Evolution (Japanese: メガシンカ Mega Evolution) is a new transformation found only in the Kalos, Valiento, and Asombro regions. Mega Evolutions are identified by having "Mega" in front of their name. In order to undergo a Mega Evolution, the Pokémon must be holding the applicable Mega Stone. An item containing a Key Stone must be used to resonate with the Mega Stone held by their Pokémon to trigger Mega Evolution. In Pokémon Upsilion, trainers use the Mega Necklace to Mega Evolve with their Pokémon. In Pokémon Journeys: The Orb Quest, trainers use the traditional Mega Ring to Mega Evolve with their Pokémon.
