OOM-992 was an OOM-series pilot battle droid who was built on Geonosis in 21 BBY by Baktoid Combat Automata, a company owned by the Techno Union, under contract of the Trade Federation and served in the CIS during the Clone Wars and later the Rebel Alliance after being rebuilt and reprogrammed by a Rebel techie called Kazna Onderman in 2 BBY. He was discovered by Kazna during a raid on a scrapping yard and was rescued from destruction by Kazna. Kazna built him and then reprogrammed him to serve the Rebel Alliance.
