The Norfolk Admirals are a professional ice hockey team in the ECHL which will begin play for the 2015-16 season. Based in Norfolk, Virginia and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, the team will play its home games at the Norfolk Scope. The Admirals will replace the American Hockey League team of the same name, which played from the 2000–01 season until the end of the 2014–15 season, after which they will move to San Diego, California to become the newest incarnation of the San Diego Gulls.
