BLACK Team is a squad sized unit of the UNSCDF-SOCOM, under the direct command of MARine Special Forces Operations Command(MARSOC). Consisting of candidates from the Office of Naval Intelligence's SPARTAN-II Program that were cut for budgetary reasons, it was developed under a covert agreement between the Commandant of the Marine Corps and ONI Section Three after a Marine Intelligence officer discovered the logistic trail for both the SPARTAN program and the MJOLNIR PAA. They have been the most effective Marine Corps unit during the Human-Covenant War, aside from the ODST's 105th Shock Troops Division.
