Decelerated Aging is the ability of an individual to decelerate their body's normal rate of decay, so as to live a longer lifespan. This power is often an ancillary ability associated with Immortality and Resurrection. It is a passive power, and one that does not require direct action in order to take effect. In some cases, the affected character ages to a static chronological state and then ceases to age altogether. This aspect of Decelerated Aging is common to most Gods and Cosmic Beings. While in many cases this power may be a natural ability of the user, it can also be acquired through external methods or practices. Members of the Justice Society of America for example benefited from this ability after exposure to radiation from a villain named Ian Karkull.
