Crayton's Letter was written for Ella on the occasion of his death. Crayton dies in an explosion in the loric Cave in India when Ella finds the letter, though she doesn't open it for a while as she could not cope with the confirmation of his death. Ella finally decides to open the letter in Chicago while Four, Six and Sarah are away to find Five. Upon uncovering the revelations in the letter, Ella packs a bag and tells the rest of the Garde that she is leaving.
