The Become a Disney Pirate Sweepstakes was a contest ran by Disney as part of its Year of a Million Dreams. The winner would become part of Pirates of the Caribbean. The grand prize winner was Jenifer Greenwell of St. Petersburg, Florida. Her prize included two trips for four to Disneyland. On her first trip, she was dressed in pirate costume and drawn by Imagineer Jim Crouch. From that drawing, a mural was painted in the entryway of the ride. Other prizes included home entertainment systems, pinball machines, action figures, rings, video games, and books.
