The scritters is the Space Pirate name for a Phazon-based ailment that is brought about by ingesting Scritter innards. Pirate Militia are most susceptible, as they are enslaved Pirate criminals who are forced to feed on the poisonous vermin, and when infected, they became violently ill, and are said to have a case of "the scritters".
