According to legend, this rod and shield were blessed by the goddess Ishtar and used to defeat a demon that ravaged ancient Babylonia. The truth of the legend is unknown, but these artifacts do indeed possess a power that protects the bearer from evil and brings hope even in the darkest of times. This weapon is, in fact, a reference to Namco's classic franchise The Tower of Druaga (also known as the Babylonian Castle Saga), in which the Blue Crystal Rod was a divine creation of the gods, which was stolen by the demon Druaga, and the Blue Line Shield was one of the obtainable shields the main character Gilgamesh could obtain on his quest to defeat Druaga, save his lover Ki and return the Blue Crystal Rod to Ishtar.
