Lewis Davis (19 July 1807 – 29 October 1868) was a businessman and local politician. Davis was born in Woolwich and was the son of Israel Davis and Rosetta Levy. By 1851 he living in Plumstead, and was listed as a "landed proprietor, brick-maker, auctioneer and builder" in the census of that year. When the Metropolitan Board of Works was formed at the end of 1855, Lewis was nominated to the body by Woolwich Vestry. He stood down in 1857. He died in Paris, aged 61, after a short illness. At the time of his death he had addresses in Hyde Park and Plumstead.
