Elizabeth Grant was the Starfleet officer who served as first officer aboard the USS Repulse when the ship was launched in 2370. Although she is ambitious and driven, her experience is confined solely to administration. Prior to her assignment to the Repulse, she had served for years as an aide to Admiral Chekote.
