Dimples the Dog is a beagle who made his debut as a background character in the mid-1970s on Sesame Street, and was one of the first animals on the show not to be made from an Anything Muppet pattern (as most animals were originally made from). He was referred to by name in The Alphabet Game, and had a penchant for roughly playing with Big Bird during the Alphabet Treasure Hunt game show. Dimples hails from the Puppydale Puppy Farm, though it is not known how far he lives from Sesame Street. Dimples also made a background appearance in the "Rainbow Connection" finale of The Muppet Movie.
