"That's the Spirit / The Curse of Candace" hit the new airwaves on Friday, October 7, 2011 with two airings on its premiere night. Viewers preferred the later evening showing, with 3.366 million lonely viewers watching their brightly-lit TVs. This marked a 19 percent decrease from "Bullseye!" the prior week. This ranked 6th among cable programming behind a pair of Game Fives in the National League Division Series (including the Brewers' extra-inning walkoff win over Arizona) and the three other new shows in Disney's lineup (Wizards of Waverly Place, A.N.T. Farm and Jessie). While this was not good enough for the Cable Top 25, falling about 230,000 viewers short, a Sunday morning rerun (of an unknown episode) did manage to check in at No. 21.
