Akari Shibuyama is the darkness of the Golden Heart DigiDestined, and formerly the Digimon Controller. She once had an older sister named Kasumi, but she wished her to die because of her jealousy. She was first seen playing her sister's computer until she recieves a message from Lucemon Chaos Mode, takes her to the Digital World and turns her into the Digimon Controller. Her dream is to become a fashionable designer. At first she refused to join the DigiDestined but realized what has she done because of Beelzemon, terrorizing the Digital World. Renamon is revealed to be her real partner. She resembles a female version of Ken Ichijouji from 02.
