At dinner, Evelyn offers to pay for Jake's college education, and Jake agrees to it when she tells Jake that she will buy him a brand new car if his grades do well. Alan becomes listless because he has no compelling reason to work anymore as he no longer has to pay for Jake and plans to spend the rest of his life at Charlie's house. After work, Alan buys a kayak, leading to Charlie think that he will masturbate in it.
