Manchester-born actress (27th January 1922 - 18th May 1991) who, as Florrie Lindley, was part of the original cast of Coronation Street from Episode 1 in 1960 and appeared in the programme's first scene. After leaving the role in 1965 she continued to act until the late 1980s, and joined the cast of Brookside in 1983 as Edna Cross.
