The Chassidic Dynasty of Komarno was founded by Rabbi Sender (Alexander) Savran. Rabbi Sender was the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of the town of Savran, from where the family name originates. He was a disciple of the Chozeh of Lublin and died at a young age. After the death of Rabbi Sender, his son, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Yehudah Yechiel, was raised by his uncle, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Zidichov.
