Caerid Lock was a slight, dark-complected Elf with intense eyes and a careworn face. His hair and beard where cut short and shot through with gray. He had been Captain of the Druid Guard for more than fifteen years. He believes in the threat that Bremen brings of the Warlock Lord. However when asked by Bremen to leave with him, he refuses to abandon his service to the Druids. When the defenses of the keep are breached he clearly figures out that it was due to traitors. He organizes a small defense and pushes back the enemy forces from gaining entrance to the keep multiple times, but in the end is overwhelmed. He is the only man to survive the attack on the keep, and drags himself to the gatehouse of the keep. With his dying breath he is able to warn Bremen of what happened and the waiting
