The 5th Infantry Brigade is a formation of the Royal Union Army also known as "Erik The Red Brigade". It was formed in 2006 and attached to the 4th Infantry Division. It is garrisoned at Nuuk. The units are specialized in unconventional warfare and guerilla tactics and long range reconnaissance deep behind enemy lines, with no support from other units, in arctic weather conditions and in all terrain, for periods of up to 30 days.
